Dubai and other parts of the UAE are experiencing one of the hottest periods of the summer season, with temperatures expected to approach 47°C in several inland areas. The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned that heat and humidity levels are increasing across the country.
According to weather forecasts, inland regions could see temperatures ranging between 43°C and 48°C, while coastal cities such as Dubai are expected to experience temperatures between 36°C and 42°C. High humidity is making conditions feel even hotter, especially during the evening and early morning hours.
Meteorologists have also warned about the possibility of mist and fog formation in some coastal areas due to rising humidity levels. Drivers have been advised to remain cautious during early morning travel when visibility may be reduced.
In addition to the heat, some areas may experience dusty conditions and occasional strong winds reaching up to 35–45 km/h. These winds can reduce visibility in open desert areas and create uncomfortable outdoor conditions.
Health authorities are encouraging residents to:
- Drink plenty of water.
- Avoid direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours.
- Wear light-colored clothing.
- Limit outdoor activities between noon and 4 PM.
- Watch for signs of heat exhaustion and dehydration.
For Dubai residents, the extreme weather is another reminder that summer has fully arrived. Many people are choosing indoor activities, shopping malls, and air-conditioned venues to avoid prolonged exposure to the heat.
Bottom line: If you’re in Dubai today, expect a very hot day with temperatures potentially feeling much higher because of humidity. Stay hydrated and avoid spending long periods outdoors during the afternoon.
